I would like to recommend an enhancement to DesignFiles’ existing product library, pricing, and clipper tools.
DesignFiles already allows users to save product links, capture pricing with the Product Clipper, and manually edit product pricing, markup, and client price fields. However, for users with large product libraries, it would be extremely helpful to have a more global way to keep saved pricing current.
Recommended Feature 1: Global or Batch Price Updates
Please consider adding a global price update tool for product libraries.
Helpful options could include:
Update pricing by vendor
Update pricing by selected products
Update pricing by percentage increase/decrease
Upload a spreadsheet or vendor price list to update matching products
Apply a price change across every instance of that product where it appears in projects, boards, quotes, invoices, spec sheets, or proposals
Flag project/product prices that differ from the master library price
This would reduce manual work and help prevent outdated pricing from being sent to clients.
Recommended Feature 2: Link-Based Price Check Tool
Since DesignFiles already stores product links and captures product data through the clipper, another helpful feature would be a way to check saved product links for current pricing.
This could work as either:
A “Check Price” button on an individual product
A batch price check for selected products
A scheduled price check for the user’s library
A report showing old price, new price, source link, and date checked
An approve/reject step before the saved price is updated
This would be especially valuable for designers and product-based sellers who reuse curated products across multiple boards, guides, client projects, and shopping lists.
Overall, this would build on the current DesignFiles product library and clipper workflow while helping users keep pricing accurate at scale.
Thank for listening,
Janet
